We are so excited to have configured our website to allow you to apply Flying Pig educator discounts to your online orders. Here's how it works, and please scroll down to the note in red below.
If you are a regular purchaser with the Flying Pig, just email
flyingpigorders@gmail.com to ask us to assign you a "Teacher Role."
You will also want to use separate accounts for school and personal purchases.
Once we have enabled your teacher status online, please add your school's information and tax-exempt number in your account in order to avoid sales tax. Always make sure you are signed in to your teacher account before making a school order and filling your cart.
When you are ready to pay for your school or library order, head to your shopping cart and click Checkout.
From there, you'll fill out all the info as usual until you reach "Payment Method." Your discount depends on your payment method.
If you would like to be invoiced for your order, select "Pay by "Teacher PO/Check" and write your full name and school in the "House Account" field. Teachers who elect to pay by this method will receive a 20% discount off their order. To finalize your discount you will need to enter 'TEACHER20' in the coupon discount field. This is the last step before selecting "Review Order."
PLEASE NOTE: The discount applies to the list price of a book, and is not applied on top of the already-discounted 10%-off web prices. We are working with the web host to fix the issue. In the meantime, we will contact you with the correct amount of your book purchase for your approval.
If you would like to pay by Credit Card, simply enter your Credit Card information in the provided field. Teachers who elect to pay by this method will receive a 17% percent discount off their order. To finalize your discount you will need to enter 'TEACHER17' in the coupon discount field. This is the last step before selecting "Review Order."
If you would like to pay by Gift Card or Gift Code, simply enter your Gift Card Number or Gift Code in the provided field. Please note that we do not use Givex gift cards, so if you have a Flying Pig gift card, you'll need to use the message box and type in the card number (usually begins with 1000 followed by four numbers. Teachers who elect to pay by this method will receive a 20% percent discount off their order. To finalize your discount you will need to enter 'TEACHER20' in the coupon discount field. This is the last step before selecting "Review Order."
How quickly are orders processed?
We place orders daily, and most ordered items arrive between 1 and 10 days, depending on the ready availability of the titles you're ordering. Please note: supply chains and delivery services have been greatly affected by COVID, so there are occasional delays nationwide. We promise to get things to you as quickly as we can within our powers to do so! We thank you for your patience and support.

The Flying Pig loves working with schools, helping teachers and librarians find the best books for curriculum needs, running curated in-store book fairs, giving lively book talks to students in schools and at the store,* and bringing fantastic authors to your schools.* Three of our staff members are former or current educators with Masters degrees in Education and have a range of familiarity with age ranges from preschool to college-aged students. We are passionately committed to diversity and equity, in society and in the literature we offer, so please use us a resource when building and updating your classroom libraries. Elizabeth created the World Full of Color database of books for children's and teens featuring main characters of color. She began it in 2009 and continues to add to it as new books come out.
